Contact Your Local Media

Several parents have been successful contacting their local new outlets to share their personal stories, while spreading awareness.  Here are some tips from them:

1) Be Relevant - Edit the press release and add your personal story

2) Contact them early, although we have seen success in the last minutes as well!

3) Contact several media outlets - check with people who do stories on community.

4) Types of media outlets:  in print or on-line, news papers, magazines, televised new, internet news, etc.
